IIIT Nagpur celebrated National Youth Day with fervour and enthusiasm, marking the birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda on 13th January 2025. The event highlighted the significance of youth empowerment and leadership in shaping India’s future. The occasion was graced by Ms. Rashmi Samant, the first Indian to be elected as president of the Oxford University Students' Union and an author of bestseller “A Hindu in Oxford” and “Ram Janmbhoomi – An Inspiration for Hindu Renaissance”. Delivering an inspiring talk on the theme “Viksit Bharat: Role of Youth Leadership in Amrit Kaal”, Ms. Samant captivated the audience with her powerful insights and vision for a developed India. Speaking to an audience comprising students, faculty, and dignitaries, Ms. Samant emphasized the importance of youth leadership in the ongoing Amrit Kaal—the 25- year roadmap leading to India’s centenary of independence in 2047. She encouraged young minds to draw inspiration from Swami Vivekananda's ideals of selflessness, courage, and determination. "Failure is not the end; it is the beginning of success, where every setback becomes a step forward," Ms. Samant remarked during her address, urging students to embrace challenges as opportunities for growth. She also highlighted how Indian youth have the potential to become global leaders by harnessing their entrepreneurial skills, creativity, innovation, and commitment to societal welfare. The event received support and guidance from Director Dr. Premlal Patel, Registrar Mr. Kailas Dakhale, Associate Dean Dr. Tausif Diwan. Head of Department of Basic Sciences Dr. Prasad Joshi and Dr. Aatish Daryapurkar, President of Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC). The program was coordinated by Mr. Vikrant Dhenge, Assistant Professor in the Department of Basic Sciences. The event was skillfully anchored by Mr. Aarya Pandhare and Mr. Sarthak Gupta, while Mr. Amulya Yadav delivered the vote of thanks.
